Founded in 2013 by Dennis Carroll and Jeff Martinez, Houston Refrigerated Logistics, Inc. (HRL) has continually added to its service offerings to provide the most complete refrigerated and dry storage solutions in the Houston area.
HRL and its affiliated trucking company, Houston Refrigerated Trucking, LLC, which is a bonded carrier, can handle all your needs. From the time your product arrives in Houston or the Houston area ports, we can provide your dray services to and from Jacintoport, Barbour’s Cut, Bayport, Galveston, and Freeport. These are all strategically positioned facilities in Houston and Freeport, TX. Whether you only need dry services, or a full line of services, we are a company that can do it all.

We can arrange USDA inspections at our facility, deliver your products to the end user within the state of Texas and handle custom bonded loads. We can unload or load containers for import/export customers as well as restack or rearrange tipped loads.

President
Dennis Carroll has been involved in the transportation and produce industries for over 30 years. Dennis has always said, “when I was a young man, I knew I wanted to be involved in the trucking/logistics industry”. After obtaining his CDL at a young age, Dennis began his career as a driver, working both national and local deliveries. Eventually, Dennis transitioned from the truck to become a Transportation Broker and then went on to become involved in the transportation of fresh cut produce that quickly became his new passion. Dennis was now fascinated by the produce industry and the various products and services that came with it.
After years of being involved in the fresh cut produce business, Dennis began a career in the storage of produce and the procurement of transportation. This eventually led to Dennis and his business partner, Jeff Martinez, realizing the lack of services related to the produce industry and the opportunity to come up with a solution. In August of 2014, Dennis and Jeff decided to capitalize on this opportunity and Houston Refrigerated Logistics and Houston Refrigerated Trucking was born. Dennis remains heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of the business and his passion remains the same as the day he started. “I believe that if you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life. I’ve been blessed in this regard”, Dennis says. “Our company motto is “We say what we do, and do what we say”, and I hold all of my employees to this standard for all customers.
Dennis lives in the Houston area with his wife Julie and son Cole. In his spare time, Dennis enjoys boating, fishing, hunting, golfing, and especially anything that has to do with his Iowa Hawkeyes.
Director of Business Operations
Tim Carroll graduated from Norwalk High School in May
2001 and started off in the personal finance and collections business. After starting a family at a young age, Tim decided in October 2008 to pursue further education in the world of business. In October 2012, Tim graduated and obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Business Finance. After obtaining his degree, Tim went into the call center industry where he continued his growth and knowledge of the business industry, working his way from an entry level employee to an Executive.
Tim joined Houston Refrigerated Logistics in February 2019 as the Director of Business Operations and while he is new to the produce industry, Tim has quickly become acclimated with the day-to-day operations of the organization. Tim lives in the Houston area with his wife, Sarah, and their four children. Tim is a passionate Iowa Hawkeye fan, and loves to cook, smoke/BBQ meats, watch most sports and is an avid outdoorsman.
Accounting Manager
Julie Carroll has been the Accounting Manager for Houston Refrigerated Logistics, and Houston Refrigerated Trucking, since both companies began. Once Julie finished college, she immediately began her career in accounting. She worked in various positions and soon entered the world of transportaon, logistics, produce, and warehousing.
Julie loves the fast pace of the business and handles all of the accounting needs of HRL and HRT. Whether it is billing, AR/AP, driver settlements or any other accounting issue, Julie is the person to contact. Her dedication, willingness to work long hours, and relentless dedication makes her an inspiration to everyone around her.
Her just get it done attitude is second to none. We look forward to Julie remaining a valuable member of our team for years to come!
Operations Manager
Julio joined the HRL family in December 2014 and quickly established his importance and knowledge to the day to day operations of our organization. With over 14 years of experience in the produce industry, Julio quickly rose thru the ranks and became first the warehouse manager taking care of the daily operations of the warehouse, and now to the position of Operations Manager.
Julio manages all day-to-day activities in both of the Houston warehouses. Julio oversees all paperwork of product in and out, inventories, bagging equipment, re-packaging/re-grading of product, employee scheduling and many other duties. Julio is also a valuable member of the safety team and plays an important role in our food safety program. If there is something going on in the warehouse, Julio is involved in some aspect.
When not hard at work Julio loves watching the Houston Texans, but, his real passion is soccer. Julio has three beautiful daughters and enjoys spending his free time with them. He believes that family is very important, and we are excited he is part of the HRL family.
Houston Refrigerated Logistics is located in Houston, Texas and has been operating for 5 years. HRL primarily operates in the Log Loading and Unloading business within the Transportation Services sector.
